East Carolina Outdoor Performance Ensemble

Hometown: Greenville, North Carolina
League: ENCORE The East Carolina Outdoor Performance Ensemble was originally established in 1959 by a group of marching enthusiasts in Goldsboro, NC. They were a member of the marching band division of the Mid-Atlantic Marching Arts League. ECOPE was a real contender, winning 2 MAMAL MB Championships and placing 2nd or 3rd in Championships 8 more times. When MAMAL folded in 1974, ECOPE had to resort to playing exhibitions at local high school band competitions. ECOPE ceased operations until further notice in 1977. In 1991, the Carolina Freelance Marching Association was created, and ECOPE made a comeback, performed in CFMA competitions all over the state. But the comeback was shortlived, as CFMA fell apart due to internal corruption, and ceased to exist in 1993. ECOPE went back to their roaming ways, until they ceased operation once again in 2006. In 2014, a vague yet friendly company reincarnated ECOPE and moved them to Greenville, North Carolina. ECOPE joined BRAVO! Bands and now competes in the FMA Circuit. Their first full season since relocating will be S.42. ECOPE went off during S.43, winning 21 competitions, a silver at FMA D3 Bands Finals, and the BRAVO Division 3 championship.
