I love color guard and marching band!
(By the way, EWP stands for Eyes With Pride!)
You may notice that a lot of my shows are inspired by Broadway musicals, especially Wicked! Wicked is my favorite Broadway show, with CATS as my 2nd favorite!

My drum corps and I reached an unscalable wall.
We tried to climb over but it's impossibly tall.
It's a million feet wide and a billion yards up,
we tried to march through it but it wasn't enough.
There were words on that wall that were scattered about-
words like difficult, impossible, fear, and self doubt.
Sometimes we felt like we wanted to quit.
That wall was much bigger than we'd like to admit.
But we'd pick ourselves up and break down our parts.
We'd drill in our moves till we knew them by heart.
The judges would judge us show after show,
the wall's shadow upon us wherever we'd go.
But when state arrived the words were not taunting,
The wall was still there but it wasn't as daunting.
In the end it was us that the audience crowned-
we made a wall of our own, a wall of our sound.

Show Title
The Book Thief
Repertoire
This show is based off of the book by Markus Zusak and film directed by Brian Percival. Liesel Meminger is a young girl on the verge of adolescence the midst of WWII Germany. Her mother is unfortunately unable to care for her and she is adopted by a German couple. Liesel is illiterate when she arrives-thereafter, she is encouraged to learn to read by her adoptive father. The couple takes in a Jew named Max, who is hiding from Hitler's army-eventually, Liesel befriends him. This show gives insight to how words and imagination provides her and her friends an escape from the events that unfold around them.
Music includes selections from the movie soundtrack (by John Williams) and Movement 2: Europe During the War from Different Trains by Steve Reich.
