Show Title
Let Me Shine
Repertoire
Mvt. I - I've Seen Brighter Days
An articulate jazz opener that builds up to a power ballad to begin the show. This movement capitalizes on the trails and tribulations a person faces to conquer their goals of everyday life. Although the future is dim, they tend to reflect on the past and yearn for those once brighter days.
Mvt. II - Why Me?
A lyrical ballad that narrates the anguish that person feels in that exact moment. Visual moments will be illustrated by the guard/dance team while the music ensemble belts out the emotion.
Mvt. III - I'm Not Done Yet
An upbeat swing style jazz piece brings people back to their spirits to help them realize that life heals and can be improved. A fire is lit and conditions are improving. Better cards are dealt and there's no turning back!
Mvt IV - Let Me Shine
This bright fanfare captivates the empowerment that can be felt when life and emotions are thriving. A reprise of "I've Seen Better Days" ostinatos over the ensemble to reveal a sense of where we started and where we are now and that with determination, anything is possible.
