CLASS Review

We have had some great shows this season in CLASS! We will quickly review some of the most exciting!

CLASS Atlantic had defending champions Nemesis soundly on top but with Epic taking every performance category, it was clearly these two would tango all season! Nemesis has a very Russian themed show with their program Mussorgsky? featuring some of the composers known and lesser known pieces. Russians continue to reign as Epic takes on Shostakovich in Piano Concerto No 1 in their show Sybil:The Art of Insanity!

FMA Texas hosted by the Blue Demons brought some of the biggest names in FMA to one field. Sapphire Vanguard continued their dominance on the season by edging out Nemesis and Epic. The Vanguard dominated performance and took GE Visual, Nemesis took GE Music and Epic was ahead of Nemesis once again in performance. While Sound of Valley took first, Graffiti, Nastalgia Cadets and Great Lakers layed out a very tight competition between them. The excitement in Division II has been very high in CLASS this season!

CLASS MidAmerica was not a largely attended show, but Epic put on a fantastic show. While Epic did dominate across the board, Blue Demons Angels of the Earth show had some very strong performances.

The 7th Annual Skyline Competition once again brought the elite of FMA together in one location. Sapphire Vanguard started to pull away from the group and assert their dominance on the field. Epic also took a step up over Nemesis as they moved into second! Corps IBEX also continued a climb toward the top group. In Division II Graffiti took on Corps of Unspecified Identity and while they placed second, they continued their climb up the FMA ladder! Its clear this corps will be going for the championship in the near future.

Modern Classic continues to be the premiere FMA event in NJ as Epic once again took down Nemesis. Climbing ever closer to the top group was Blue Deviled Eggs and Corps IBEX who battled it out for 3rd! Great Lakers bested many of the Division I corps to take Division II while dunkirk patriots cleaned up division III with their show fantasy!

Today the Preview of Champions once again brought out many top corps from around FMA. Epic continued to open up the spread over Nemesis as the defending champs seem to start slipping further behind. Corps IBEX actually came very close to taking second for themselves as they seem poised to now challenge Nemesis. Not far out of it was Quiksilver who stays firmly in top 12. Taking brass, visual performance and both GE categories Epic clearly was in the number one corps, but Nemesis was able to take guard and Corps IBEX took percussion. In Division II Graffiti and Great Lakers took the captions with Lakers dominating GE with Listen Carefully but Graffiti seasons of love performance is hard to beat!

As we approach the final weekend and CLASS Championships we have some GREAT competitions between corps!

AND CLASS KEEPS GROWING! I am VERY pleased to announce our newest addition to the CLASS family!!! First Legion is in only its third year, but clearly demonstrating some power in Division III and now Division II! IN just their second season they were able to take the Division III Gold by an EIGHT POINT SPREAD! This season they jumped up to Division II and they haven’t let that move hold them back at all! They currently seat ON TOP of Division II!
