Short bio: I started wanting to be a band director the summer before my freshman year in 2003 when I saw The Cavaliers for the first time (Spin Cycle) at my first DCI show, and decided I wanted to do marching band. Since then I've been hard at work practicing playing and conducting to be a band director. I intend to graduate 2014 with my BME and go straight into my master's in conducting at Michigan State University. I already have a lot of teaching experience under my belt-- two years as FHS Brass Caption Head (2008 - 2009) and Kent City High School Winds Caption head (2010 - Present) and co-arranger. I am part of concept design for them, and arranged their warm ups and on-field warm up. I also teach a boat-load of middle school students in the Byron Center area. Looking to get into DCA for a bit, and then tech an open class corps while in college before getting my masters, and one day I want to be assistant director of music and athletic music director at a college. In case you did the math, yes, I took two summers off between high school and college for drum corps and to teach.
