Perhaps a certain amount of points for each finish to the season for each performing ensemble, for EXAMPLE: (Division 1 should have a slightly higher scale compared to division 2, and 2 to 3.)
Division I:
1st-50 points
2nd-45 pts
3rd-40 pts
4th-28 pts
5th-25 pts
6th-22 pts
7th-19 pts
8th-16 pts
9th-13 pts
10th-10 pts
11th-7 pts
12th-4 pts
13th-Nth- 3 points
Division 2:
1st-45 points
2nd-40 pts
3rd-35 pts
4th-27 pts
5th-24 pts
6th-21 pts
7th-18 pts
8th-15 pts
9th-12 pts
10th-9 pts
11th-6 pts
12th-3 pts
13th-Nth- 2 points
Division 3:
1st-40 points
2nd-35 pts
3rd-30 pts
4th-26 pts
5th-23 pts
6th-20 pts
7th-17 pts
8th-14 pts
9th-11 pts
10th-8 pts
11th-5 pts
12th-2 pts
13th-Nth- 1 point
Example Rankings:
Player A:
S1-3rd in Div. 2 - 35pts
S2-7th in Div. 1 - 19pts
S3-4th in Div. 1 - 28pts
Player B:
S1-6th in Div. 1 - 22pts
S2-9th in Div. 1 - 13pts
S3-14th in Div. 1 - 3pts
Player C:
S1-2nd in Div. 3 - 35pts
S2-13th in Div. 2 - 2pts
S3-3rd in Div. 2 - 35pts
Rankings:
1. Player A - 82 points
2. Player C - 72 points
3. Player B - 38 points
This translates well because Player A has a Div. 2 bronze medal and a 4th place finish in Div. 1. Player C comes in 2nd with a silver medal in Div. 3 and a bronze medal in Div. 2.
All medal positions, regardless of division, rank higher than any non-medal finish (4th on down), thus more points.
