What can I say, the mid-late 90s were for the Blue Devils. Except 98, that was about the Cadets.

At one point 99 BD was my favourite show from them, but it has slowly change to 97. That was an excellent all around production. 2000 was also a great year, a bit under rated in my eyes.

Cadets 98 remains the visually cleanest show I've ever seen. Music sucked, though.

2000 Blue Devils is a GREAT show, and badly under-rated. My favorite BD show of the past 15 years or so.

2009 BD was the single-easiest brass book by a DCI Champion in history. Just a joke. Crown should have won that year, but DCI only rewards cleanliness, not challenge. BD had an awesome drum-line that season, though.

host.. it rewards cleanliness and challenging.. If you are challenging but not clean, you aren't going to win. At the same time if you march around in a block for 10 minutes playing mary had a little lamb, but perfectly clean.. you still aren't going to win.

The cleanest challenging show will typically win.

I dunno, as a mello player, I thought the book was pretty awesome, but that's just me. There were two parts in the show were it's good to be a mellophone.

Cadets are pretty much known for their awesome mellophone parts.. especially those 1 finger mello runs.

If you want some really stupidly insane runs, go check out BDs runs.. it's like Wayne tries to make the fingerings as complicated as possible

Apparently I'm one of the only people ever that hated Cadets 05.

The funniest interview I had ever seen was I believe in the theaters.. the girls on the door were interviewed. They were asked something to the effect of "so what are your roles and the point of the doors in the show?" and their response... "uhh.. umm... *crickets* umm *deer in headlights* uhhh"

Baaaaahaha fail....
