ECC News
We left off with the GCC-ECC show in Houston hosted by the Houston Privateers! The show highlighted defending champion Nemesis who seems to be in a strong contention for another championship this season. Nemesis continued early season domination by taking the show by just over 3 points. The battle continues in second place as Sound of the Valley barely edged out Stardusters by just a few tenths! Stardusters pulled in the high brass award. Nemesis and Sound of the Valley tied for percussion. SotV took visual performance, The wolves took percussion and Nemesis captured the ensemble and general effects captions. In division II Menno Knights and Golden Knights battled it out with Piedmont Crusade close behind. Menno took gold, percussion, visual performance and Music GE. Golden Knights captured second, guard, visual ensemble and visual GE. Their 1960’s dance style really seems to be winning over the judges!
Last Saturday we had a highlight show at the Mid South Invitation hosted by Southwind II! Nemesis once again swept the show with moving selections from Symphony #3 and their earth friendly eco-show. They took the ensemble and GE categories but second place Cornhuskers with their baseball themed shows hit the homeruns in performance categories! Eagle Regiment was several points back in 3rd. In division II GEORGE took home first with Tullahoma Azure Force in second and White Cross Regiment in 3rd. Southwind II came in 6th at their home show with In Caelum Fero.
Thursday night Drums Along the Onandaga, sponsored by The Royal Guardsmen saw defending champs Nemesis opening up a spread by nearly six points! This time along with ensemble and GE they also took guard. SoCal Arts show On Air when right along with the Planet Earth show of Nemesis and the two shows complemented each other a great deal and really got the crowd thinking. Corps IBEX got 3rd along with percussion. Seraphim was back in 7th but won winds and visual performance! Division II Tullahome Azure was back on top of their game taking 1st. Open All Knights and Menno Knights battled again for 2nd and 3rd. Division III Empire Brass won with their show entitled FRANK. Broken Arrow and GrooveFuck were close behind taking 2nd and 3rd.
Our next show is Sunday! Modern Classic will once again be hosted by Modern Antic! It’s a great line up of corps and should be an excellent show! There will be nine division I corps, 16 division II and 5 division III corps in attendance!
Later today we will also release the latest ECC Standings!!!
