The Irish Athletic Arts are celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Druids Drum & Bugle Corps, and the successful inaugural Season for the Shamrock Marching Band.
"These two groups have brought so much pride to this organization," says assistant director Albert Orsborn. "The Druids have been hovering in 3rd for Div II drum corps, and the Shamrocks are making things look like a silver place finish will be the reward for a hard work their first year out."
The Druids show has become more and more defined, adding more props, visuals, and focal points that really define the show.
"The addition of our new air blades instead of rifles really adds to our GE," says color guard instructor Ryan Rasikas, "Especially since we've dressed them up with gray gears and cogs."
The Shamrocks have also been building on redoing a classic show, Gustav Holst's "The Planets".
The Druid's most recent success came in the form of a bronze medal at tonight's regional, the FMA Seattle Regional. The corps scored a 61.310, breaking 60 mid-way through week two.
Keep posted to hear more from these classic and building groups as the Season goes on.
