Hi all,
Some of you may remember me as the guy behind “Spirit of Bucktown” and the Buchanan HS groups that were around quite some time ago. I made this announcement just after Christmas last year on the discord server and finally felt the need to share it here. Please know that this was NOT an easy decision but I sincerely hope that all the organizations we left behind are continuing to grow and thrive each season.

**Michigan Matrix Makes Final Decision to Cease Operations**
Hi all. I hope everyone who celebrates had a great Christmas holiday, and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Unfortunately, I must *slightly* dampen the holiday cheer.
After months of deliberations, the board of directors at the Michigan Matrix Performing Arts Association have come to a unanimous, yet devastating decision to completely cease operations of the entire Michigan Matrix organization.
As director of 4 of the most well respected ensembles in FMA, this decision is heartbreaking as I have been involved with FMA since the end of my junior year of HS in the spring of 2019.
We are incredibly grateful to our staff, performers, supporters, volunteers, and community who put in so much work to make Michigan Matrix what it became. It has been such an honor bringing our shows to audiences around the world, and it means so much to me for us to have had such a historic season in our final months. I am thankful for the corps, bands, guards, and drumlines I have come to share this activity with, and I’m thankful to anyone who has given us the means to make what we do possible.
While the field and floor will be darker without Michigan Matrix, we will still be rooting for ALL of your continued success wherever you go.
Thank you, for 5 and a half INCREDIBLE years of performances, support, and encouragement in our pursuit of excellence. You all are Matrix Strong in our hearts, and I will miss you all

I can’t tell you all how fun this game was as a wannabe band director in high school. It was awesome to grow these ensembles from the ground up and turn them into eventual powerhouses in division 1 competition. But alas, as many have stated previously, the tedious work with this game becomes a chore, and that is NOT something I wanted to take away from this. I have thoroughly enjoyed competing with each of you, as I have been around since season 78 WAY back in June of 2019, and boy what a journey it has been.
Until next time, friends, may you all be Matrix Strong <3
