For 2024 season, FMA goes LIVE!!!

If you have done a fantasy corps outside of FMA, it likely was based off a similar model. Like DCPI or FDCI before, you pick a real corps for 8 captions and whatever that group scores in real life in that caption, you score in your fantasy corps!

I am asking for those interested to start by letting me know at whiteknights207@gmail.com or Gcurrier on FMA or discord. For now, just let me know you are interested and what your Corps name will be. It can be the same as here on FMA or a completely new group.

beyond that, you can make yourself familiar with how it works and ask any questions for clarification!


Fantasy Marching Arts LIVE Drum Corps

Rules:

Each Fantasy Corps will choose 8 Live corps to represent them in 8 captions: GE1, GE2, Visual Proficiency (VP), Visual Analysis (VA), Color Guard (CG), Brass (B), Music Analysis (MA) and Percussion (P) (the same as DCI).

The same as DCI, GE will be worth 40 points; Visual Total 30 points (VP, VA, CG); Music Total 30 points (B, MA, P)

Each corps will have a max number of points to use towards those captions and each caption MUST have points assigned to them.

There will be 2 shows a week, one Saturday and one Sunday using the most recent live scores (Saturday will use scores from the week and Sunday will use Saturday nights scores - if a corps did not compete, the most recent scores will be used). Finals week there will be a Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Championships.

No two corps can have the same 8 captions - if 2 corps do have the same captions, whoever submitted first will keep it and the other will be notified to change at least one caption.

Shows will be:
July 6th and 7th - Whitewater and Madison WI
July 13th and 14th - Denver CO and Pasadena CA
July 20th and 21st - Houston and San Antonio TX
July 27th and 28th - Orlando FL and Atlanta GA
August 3rd and 4th - Philadelphia and Allentown PA
August 9th, 10th and 11th (Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Finals) Indianapolis IN

During finals week if a “live corps” doesn't make it to the next level, we will use their previous score (no generated scores). Genesis & Jersey Surf's first show isn't until July 13th so scores will be generated off last year's scores in the same time frame (for first shows only).

Captions can be submitted starting NOW and must be submitted by July 1st.

Caption changes: If you choose, you can make caption changes (again whoever submits the 8 captions first gets that choice) on the following schedule:
3 between July 15th and July 19th
3 more between July 29th and August 2nd
2 changes between quarters and semis and 2 between semis and finals

My plan is this, have a caption and score announcement "live" on the discord chat and then post here. I will not post who anyone chose, but I can either post caption winners and scores or I can do that and add a recap as well. I'm open

There is still time to join if interested!! We have 11 groups currently, I also reached out to some historic players to see if they wanted to join!
