Hey Everyone!

This is Msabbara, the Director of Llibertat performing arts, who run Castells, Piedra Del Sol, Les Roses, and Castania Outdoor Performance Ensemble! This press release for season 118 is coming a little late, due to the holidays, but I finally found the time to write this. We are very excited to let you know what we have going on this season!!!!

This season, we were given the opportunity to have all of our groups perform in Division I of FMA; an honor that we are deeply appreciative of. We know that competition is very intense this season, so we are mainly hoping to break our score records and go out with a bang!!!

This season, we branched out in terms of media for our programs. WE HAVE MADE VIDEO TRAILERS! We put a lot of effort into them, so we hope you enjoy and get hyped to see the programs live!

Now that that is out of the way, it is time to discuss our program:

Castells- “The Caged Bird”

“The Caged Bird” tells the story of a girl's quest for freedom. The story is loosely based off of Veronica’s story from the show “Black Clover”. Trapped in a large bird cage from a young age, the girl’s views of the world are very skewed, she sees others as they play outside, whereas she is made to study and fulfill the goals already set for her. This program tells the story of how she finds inner strength and fights against her captors. Will she find freedom in the end, or be made to live this monotonous life unendingly? We hope you are looking forward to “The Caged Bird”

Repertoire:
Solitude from “Black Clover” by Minako Seki
Blue Bird by ikimonogakari
Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Hope is the Thing with Feathers by Christopher Tin

Piedra Del Sol- “Solitude By The Sea”

“Solitude By The Sea” describes the life of a lighthouse keeper. It aims to depict the highs and lows that come with such a career, such as contrasting feelings of independence with immense feelings of loneliness. We hope you look forward to “Solitude by the Sea”.

Les Roses- “A Night In Tokyo”

“A Night In Tokyo” transports the viewer to Tokyo in the 1980’s. The 1980’s would see a large economic and culture boom in Japan. Japan would reach an unemployment rate of 5%, which was very low for the time, and the population would find themselves paying a great deal for quality items. Artistically, this is the time in which Manga and Anime would start to gain popularity among the population and musically, Japan was in its funk era. This program uses music of the time in order to transport the viewer to a nation that was on the rise to be the powerhouse it is today. We hope you enjoy “A Night In Tokyo”.

Repertoire:
Sparkle by Tatsuro Yamashita
Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi
Stay With Me by Miki Matsubara
