Hello all,
Earlier this spring, I mentioned that BHSPAA would be taking a two-season hiatus in hopes of returning for the tour premiere of season 106. As many of you saw, that did not happen. Recent events outside of the FMA universe have led the admin team at Buchanan High School to cease operations in the FMA circuit in the forms of marching band, drum corps, color guard, and percussion. This is a decision we do not take lightly, as we know there are so many of you who’ve looked forward to and supported our performances.
Thank you to all of the bands, corps, guards, and percussion ensembles who have made the groups of Buchanan High School ones to remember, and who have given us support to keep our events running for multiple seasons. Thank you to all of our neighboring schools who have lent their facilities for housing, contests, and other logistical purposes during BHS’s time on tour. Thank you to our generous patrons who have stopped at nothing to fill the stands at every event we have performed at. Thank you to our amazing group of students, staff, and volunteers who have stepped up every season to give music back to the community. Thank you to MCBA for allowing us to host state championships for many years at our campus.
Due to our indefinite cease of operations, the following events will not occur for the foreseeable future:
Cavalcade of Brass, Drums, and Colors
MCBA State Championships
In addition, the league founded by the Spirit of Bucktown Drum and Bugle Corps (Michigan Competing Drum Corps Association [MCDCA]) will also cease to exist indefinitely.
We will greatly miss all of you, and we hope that maybe Buchanan High School’s online ensembles will resurface again someday, and as always, stay safe and GO BUCKS!
