In a surprise move, the Season 37 Division II champions, Red Lightning Regiment, has returned to competition for season 89.

Following an extended hiatus, the group has reformed under the direction of Brandon Wolff. Although placement is unknown, Wolff is preparing the drum corp to be competitive in either Div. I or 2.

"Right now, we're working on our fundamentals. We're not worried about placement at this time. All we're focusing on right now is to put the best product on the field," said Wolff.

The Season 89 show for the Red Lightning Regiment is entitled Sic Semper Tyrannis. While the official musical arrangements have not been announced, the show will feature the "befall of tyrants."

Red Lightning Regiment will also reintroduce three additional groups: Atlantic Storm (Marching Band), Typhoon (Drumline), and Arctic Blast (Winter Guard).

All four groups will be holding competitions throughout the year. Dates for these competitions include:

Drum Corp: Battle Under the Storm Invitational Part XIII (SEPT 11)
Marching Band: Battle Under the Atlantic Part XIII (SEPT 9)
Drumline: Tornado Alley Invitational Part XI (SEPT 11)
Winter Guard: Polar Vortex Invitational Part VI (SEPT 3)
