In Season 87, the Lexington Legends will return to the field of competition! The corps will continue in their tradition of bringing stories from folklore, religion, or other legends to the field. In Season 87, the corps looks to the Aztec goddess of the Moon, "Coyolxauhqui".
Coyolxauhqui, daughter of Coatlicue (goddess of the Earth), desires to rule the heavens. But she must kill her own mother to satiate her desires. Her biggest obstacle - her younger brother, Huitzilophochtli, the god of war. The two and Coyolxauhqui's army make battle, before Huitzilophochtli eventually strikes his sister and her army down. When Coyolxauhqui dies, she ascends to the heavens, becoming the moon and her army the stars.
