Anybody making the trek to Indy for DCI Finals this week?

Care to make predictions on who you think will win this weekend?

I will be there for Semi's and Finals. Going to see Qfinals in theatres cause 1) I can't afford to go all three nights and 2) cause I can see it for free!

Some of those races are too tight to really call and could go anyway. Will be a lot of fun! :) Hoping someone can still overtake BD. It's been done before. ;)

I am going to Open Class Quarterfinals tonight in Michigan City... not that far of a drive. Plus I want to see some friends I met from tour this summer and see where Thunder would of placed. Then World Class Quarterfinals in theaters Thursday and World Class Finals on Saturday! Whoo hoo, a drum corps filled week,

I hope they do something so wonderfull that no matter what place they come in, it takes the spotlight off of some of the others.

Watching Semis on Fan Network, watched Quarters from theaters.

1. Blue Devils (don't like it, but can't argue with a 97.900 during Quarterfinals)
2. The Cavaliers (I'd like them to win, they ARE my corps, but the gap is just too big)
3. Bluecoats (They're within striking distance of the Cavies, they just need to improve the visual score)
4. Carolina Crown (Good show, but I don't like the visual design)
5. The Cadets (I like that they took out the 'old-school moves' bit, and they are solid in all categories)
6. Phantom Regiment (My favorite show of the year, but I can see why they aren't placing any higher than this)
7. Blue Stars (They have room to improve and I really like their show this year)
8. Santa Clara Vanguard (Their show is misunderstood by many [myself included], but very technical and just needs polishing)
9. Madison Scouts (Can't argue with 20 contras, haha)
10. Boston Crusaders
11. Blue Knights (another favorite corps of mine)

Just going to throw this out there:

Good luck BD! Bring home a 14th championship on Saturday the 14th in the 14th largest city in the US at 10:04 PM (take out the 0s and its 14).

All those are true facts, btw ;)

And good luck to everyone else in Finals. Light a fire under those butts Bluecoats! I like your show too much to let you guys not medal.

Is it possible we see an upset by Cavies?
They finished a point behind the BDs in the semis....

I'm rooting for that.

Sad day. Blue Devils has won. While I have been known to be a Blue Devils fan, I must admit I did not like the show this year. Apparently, it's too high brow for us common folk.

As said by BlueDevils. I find the above post slightly humorous.

I thought Cavies had the BEST show of the night! That was amazing to watch!

But, alas, the stars don't agree.
Congratulations BDs, anyway. Not the best show, and still won.

It wasn't possible Cavies could over take BD.. BD was too consistent in their captions vs Cavies consistency.

I wasn't completely shocked by BD winning. As a long-time Cavies fan, I was definitely pulling for them. But, as cire mentioned, they(BD) were too consistent while Cavies didn't even have all of their caption scores in the top 5 until Finals night. And it was too little too late at that point.
I loved the show though, and it was definitely my favorite. I was quite surprised that Crown won Fan Favorite over them. But that's been the case for a while. Everybody loves CC.

All-in-all, another heart-breaker for me. Last season it was Crown(my 2nd favorite) and this season it was BCoats(come for the Percussion, stay for the AMAZING Visuals) and Cavies after Bloo slipped Thursday night. Never been a BD fan, but I'll give credit where credit is due. They were clean. Very clean. It was an amazing season.

And now, a little under 5 months until WGI 2011!

My beef about the whole thing is the point spread. It's the same problem as last year. I wouldn't mind BD winning so much if the point spread had been more respectable. I find it a crock that they were over a point ahead of Cavies. Also, a perfect guard score after multiple drops on finals night? Yeah....okay.

Congrats all the same to them. Congrats also to Bluecoats on their first medalist placing ever! And of course congrats to Phantom for winning percussion.

My order of favorite finalists shows (not where I think they should have placed):

3. Madison based Explorer Scouts (that was a hoot at finals)

10. Blue Knights (although I enjoyed their version of Nimrod more than Crowns)

I do believe the crowd was booing not blooing, cavies should've won

They were booing Blue Devils score much like they did last year. Not the Corps. The past two years the score gap has been quite frankly ridiculous but we don't make the choice. A jury of 10 people do basically. But that doesn't stop us from making whomever we want our own champion of the year. :)
