Today was the first day of competitions in Season 83, and Stetsons Performing Arts was off premiering their shows across the continent today.
Canada Corps wowed the audience at The Grove Invitational in St. Louis with their high energy show, Chaos! With constant rapid movement and death-defying stunts, the show is still in it's early phases but is sure to thrill audiences throughout the season. Featuring music Frenergy, Free Running, End Credits from Castaway, and Asphalt Cocktail, Canada Corps took 5th with a score of 74.805.
Maple Leaf Percussion performed today in Orlando at the Battle at the Amway, debuting their pruduction First Circle. Using music from the Pat Methany piece of the same name, this year the group is re-imagining their show from their first season, using the same music but was misnamed as Full Circle. A fun show about finding your way through life, Maple Leaf placed 6th with a score of 74.400.
Alberta X joined Canada Corps in St. Louis for the Spirit of StL Invitational. Their show, Immigrant, uses the music Saro from artists Sam Amidon and the Westerlies to tell the story of a family arriving to Canada and the struggles they face. There wasn't a dry eye in the arena when the show was finished. Alberta X won the competition today, scoring 80.690.
Finally, the Calgary Stetson Showband was in Michigan City, IN, at ENCORE on the Lake. They presented their production, Albertan Landscapes, a musical tour of the natural wonders of Alberta from the deep boreal forests to the wide open prairies to the majestic rocky mountains, featuring the music Mt. Everest, the Canyon, and San Andreas Landscapes. They placed 4th today, with a score of 72.820.
All members are extremely excited for this upcoming season as our groups continually push to improve over last season.
