Please, I could use some help. As you all know, I struggle with names for my ensembles. I want to have a name that I stick with, one that I love and will become known as my ensemble performs. I have some dilemmas though. I take pride in two things really, my current band (The New Prairie Marching Cougars) and the group from the high school before that (The New Carlisle Marching Tiger Band). Both bands were and are amazingly talented and extremely exciting to listen to and to watch. I want a new name that is unique and not either New Carlisle’s or Nee Prairie’s because I respect them and do not wish to add or alter their history here. So, I’m sure you who want to help are like “I need some background or at least a mascot or something.” Well here is what I have for you:
-The name must be EXCITING. Something the crowd goes wild when they hear it announced as the band storms the field.
-The name must be or have an Irish or Scottish connection.
-My inspirations come from some ensembles: 27th Lancers Drum Corps, Kilties Drum Corps, Star of Indiana 1989, and Notre Dame’s Band of the Fighting Irish!
-We are a competitive band but also a football band at heart so we do have some high step and some college style elements of field entrances etc.
-The name must be memorable.
I want the ensemble in the geographic area of where I live. Possible towns are: Notre Dame, IN. New Carlisle, IN. Hudson Lake, IN. Highland, IN. LaPorte, IN.
Thank you everyone who helps!!!
