Season 76: Discussions, Rankings, Competitions etc.

I'm the director of the Grey Vandals and I'm personally okay being in division 3 again because I was just a noob last season. The Avengers and Bluegrass played way longer than me, so they had better experience. And probably had better staff (All my people were just level 2 in staff). The bluecoats also got held back at D3 and got 1st last season. So It might just be because they had better staff since they been playing longer, that's all that I have to say.

Welcome all new members!!
Thanks to everyone the applied to Masters of FMA this season. I'm glad to host it! For the newer members, if you were declined it's because you did not reach the requirements for Masters. Masters is a long running tradition where the top groups (medalists or finalists, if you made finals in recent seasons) get to compete. If you couldn't compete this season, you could be able next season!

I'm the director of Bluegrass Brass, I am guessing the sole reason I got bumped up to D2 was of my experience I haven't played in over 10 seasons so was kinda surprised when I realized I was not staying in D3.

My Winterguard and another, Affliction, are both in Division II, have been around for almost exactly the same amount of time, and are currently 0.190 points away from each other. And, with the exception of 2 days we ave identical schedules. I'm excited to see us battle it out! Hopefully this rivalry can last many more seasons.

Has everyone gotten off to a good start this season? Anyone surprised with how they have started? Better or worse than expected?

I started off worse than I expected, but looking at my past seasons, this is the best I've started off a season. I guess my expectations were just set too high.

I am wondering what caused such a massive drop from last season:
Division 1: 24 two seasons ago up to 27 last season down to 14 currently
Division 2: 31 two seasons ago to 29 last season down to 18
Division 2: 88 two seasons ago to 57 last season down to 17 now
now this is of corps that have performed thus far, I am sure a few haven't but still thats a loss of 64 corps season over season and 94 compared to two years ago.
I still think its quality not quantity anyway but whats happening do you think?

That's true, I am in an entertainment show called Surround Sound that is based on Star of Indiana "Blast!" where its an indoor marching band show. We have been doing it since 2003 and this is sadly the last year. Hell week (or production week) is next week so that's where I'm going to spend most of my time in

My events were very successful this season. My marching band and drum corps events broke $100K in revenue, and all events broke my record for tickets sold.

Wow! That’s GREAT Stampede! I am hosting my first evevnts this season and went low with ticket prices. What’s a good level to set ticket prices at? Anyone have any good advice?

Since I need money right now desperately, I've been maxing out ticket prices. You need to be a bit more picky and accept groups with higher influences to bring in audience, but it works for me. In later game once you have maxed out all of your staff, I suppose it would be better to have lower ticket prices to bring in more fans to hep out your influence.

I miss FMA, but I just don't want to commit the time to constantly trying to remember to rehearse. I have so many things going on lately especially. I am bored on a random Saturday off (which never happens) so I am logging back in to check in on my childhood community. Sad to see that it's still slowly dying...
Just so y'all know, I have been performing with a new indoor winds group called "Vortex Winds" which is affiliated with DownBeat Percussion. I also have White Sabers rehearsal every so often. I work 40 hours a week or more, just finished doing Les Mis with Skaneateles High School last week, I have production week for my old high school's production of On The Town next week (Jordan Elbridge), and on top of all that I have to practice pieces for my audition for the marine corps band. Oh and I am also officially a member of Nik Entertainment (Nik and the Nice Guys which is a party band based out of Rochester, NY) where I have rehearsal 1-2 times a week as well as gigs every other week or so.
So yeah. That's my life right now lol. So when I have free time, I usually practice, go out with my friends that I rarely get to see, or visit my family that is an hour+ away in all directions.
As it was brought up many times in the past but was never able to be backed, an app would probably bring me back. If there was a quick and easy way for me to pop in more often other than logging into my computer or using the un-optimized version for mobile, I'd probably still be on here pretty actively. As of now, though, it's looking bleak for the future.
(PS: not to mention the site needs an overhaul anyway due to how broken it's become)

Man you are busy!! Ya it could use a version 3 here. Having a hard time focusing. I actually researched building a new one a few ways but the cost would be pretty high. To be honest though we aren't the only fantasy marching site struggling. Besides the ones that are now gone, DCPI even with the backing of drum corps planet is struggling bad.
