Pretty big weekend for us. Homecoming last night, East Ramapo today, Arlington tomorrow. Arlington is a really important competition for us, its a good indicator for the rest of the season. Plus we go against a main competitor (We are only .55 seperated from them right now). Also I'm really excited to see Arlington who is competing at both competitions, Kingston and Arlington have a very special relationship (We love eachother a lot lol). Probably because we are so close geographically, but we are so isolated from the rest of the circuit.

Despite really bad weather conditions, Kingston did amazing tonight! 82.3! We are so happy!!!

Judges are being real interesting towards us this season. We finally had a great show with no hiccups and the members performed very well, yet the judges are too timid to hand out scores that the group is worthy of. Victor scored an 86.05 last night with several of the captions much too low. Field music judge just gave us a tik tape and scored accordingly. During critique he tried to get me to buy all new clarinet mouthpieces... Utter waste of my time.

Arlington was great yesterday. We got an 82.25 and 1st. It was sooooo hot we were just glad we stayed the same. We beat probably our biggest competitor by 2 points, (not gonna lie nearly every single band not upstate doesn't like them for one reason or the other, ours is that they do very easy shows and do very well) who got second place last year. During the retreat they announced every single score 8 points lower than the actual score, so we panicked.

We're gonna have our big prop done by our next competition if all goes accordingly. All I know is that the Dream Catcher is going to be into 2 pieces but join together later in the show, and "big enough for a girl to jump through"

We did a lot of cleaning tonight at rehearsal and it's at the point in the season where we brought out the water hose lol. A lot of stuff is cut or simplified for execution purposes. Here's hoping that it makes a difference this weekend against all the big dogs at our home show this weekend...

Had an eh performance last night. The cold really got to us. We got second and an 83.65. I feel like if conditions were better we would've done better. Right now we are in 4th by only exactly 1 point. Though, one of the competitions today the scores seemed inflated so the band thats in second might be lower. Home competition is next week! I'm really nervous for that, our scores at our competition have tended to be inflated and we go down the week after a champs.

ITS CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK!!!

Tomorrow is our semi-state! We need to make the top ten to advance to State Finals!

Well, we didn’t advance to State Finals but it was a fantastic run! Really really AWSOME! We are happy with where our season ended and we can’t wait till next year in our new uniforms!

Couldnt be more proud of this band. I think this was the best show and performance this band has ever put on. The score and result was not what we were expecting, but it didn't really matter to us. We got 6th (out of 10) and an 85.00. If one of the ensemble music judges scored us the same as the other ensemble music judge, we would have gotten second and an 87. 6th place was 85.00, 5th was 85.10, and 4th was 85.25. A lot of people-not from Kingston-are upset with our score. My family said they had people say they were amazed by our show. During retreat, the crowd was quiet with our score, but one guy, not from Kingston, shouted "give it up for Kingston!" and the crowd started cheering like crazy.


Congrats Joel and Strad, great job to Victor with their performance.
