The thing about DCI arrangers is that there are so many good ones it's hard to pin down who is best. Everyone has their own individual style.
Overall musicality, balance, and technical complexity? Jay Bocook hands down.
Meaty, powerful arrangements where each voice is written with a unique style? And tons of high mello? Has to be Shaw.
80-member pipe organ where each voice blends into the next and it's just a wall of sound? Klesch.
All of these are great styles and I don't think you'll find anyone who disputes that fact.
But all of that being said, I have enjoyed Shaw's writing almost without reservation every since I've followed drum corps. I could take or leave Bocook from year to year, and Klesch's arrangements just sound relatively formulaic and stale to me at this point (Bb major, anyone?).
