What's with some of the older seasons having disqualified units?

this was a note from the drumline forum in 2016--a dark time in FMA history:

There was a decision made amongst the community at large to not recognize FastForward and his many many forms as he had been using I dont even know how many units in the end to falsely boost up his 4 main groups. While this wasn't "against the rules" so to speak, it was very unethical and the community as a whole black listed him.

just for clarification we arent talking a couple accounts--there were a minimum of 24 accounts and some have suggested additional...it also resulted in a blacklisting of that entire league.
