It's a new season FMA, and we are ready in Atlanta.
Pride of Peachtree will be hosting Peachtree Classic III on May 12th at the Georgia Dome. Their show this season is titled "120 Yard Stage". This sort of trippy show takes the audience through the journey of a drum corp: starting with their constant rehearsing, their moments of doubt, and their moments of triumph. Yes, there could be a show within a show.
Spin and Rinse will be hosting the first ever Atlanta Spinfest at the Atlanta Performing Arts Festival. It takes place on May 12th at Phillips Arena. S&R's show is titled "40 Nights". This describes the struggle of a long-distance relationship and the satisfaction of finally seeing your loved one after so long. There will be feels.
The Georgian Youth All-Star Band hosts Bands In The Big Peach II on May 13th, the second day of the Festival. The venue will be the Georgia Dome. The youngster's show this season? "Wicked!" They will play music excerpts from the musical Wicked. Everyone loves Wicked....right? Secondly, the GYAB would like to announce their new sponsorship with Delta Airlines. To lower the costs per member, GYAB teamed up with Delta to lower the costs of travelling to competitions.
Here is where it gets interesting: I lost a bet last season. And now, for one season, The Renegade Drumline has been renamed 4 Guys, 1 Jar of Mayo. Yeahhhh. They will still host Atlanta Drumfest II at Phillips Arena on the 13th of May. Their show for S.43 is Drums On A Hot Tin Roof, based off of Tennesee Williams' play "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof". Except with drums.
All of these groups are primed and ready to go to finals this year! Are you?
Good luck to everyone this season!
