Aftershock Productions, in it's 7th active season, gets intimate with its 5th Anniversary Edition events. In a scaled back version of shows, fans will get a closer, more intimate experience with each group. The New Zealand International Open series has moved to a mid-week event for this season, bringing you a Wednesday show on 15th April 2015. Applications are now being accepted for all four events, with a maximum of 15 groups this season.
We have adopted a format for this event that will see 5 groups from each division. Along with your respective groups coveted title, the top 2 from each division will compete in the finals head to head, with an overall champion being determined by pre-weighted scores for DII & DIII. The finals will be combined shows. The top 6 drum corps will perform alternating with the top 6 bands. This should keep it very interesting. The same will occur for the guards and lines.
There will be a competitive parade early morning (9am) to kick off the festivities. An 'in your face' drumline battle is planned for Cathedral Square in the heart of the city, as well as special guard theater exhibitions.
So plan on joining us in Christchchurch, the garden city of New Zealand, for a fun filled day of excitement, competition, and great people! Wednesday, 15th April! Be there for the show of the season!
