Étude, Aero Independent, and North Star Drum Corps are proud to announce their tenth anniversary shows:
Étude (D2 Color Guard)-"Thank You"
There are some times you want to thank a person but aren't quite sure how to go about it. They've been through so much with you and have stayed with you through everything. They've seen you on our best days, your worst days, and all the days inbetween. You just can't find adequate words to thank them for all they've done and to express how much they mean to you. The show includes songs such as "Thank You Very Much" by Margaret, "Broken Wings" by Flyleaf and "For Good" written by Steven Schwartz for the musical WICKED. (Thank you to my friend who inspired this.)
Presenting their 10th season show, Étude and their show "Thank You".
Aero Independent (D2 Marching Band)-"If Only We Had Time: Experiencing Torschlusspanik"
What are some of the things you and your friends would do-"if only you had time"? This show explores the curiousness and remorse people feel as they experience Torschlusspanik (a German word that describes the fear that we feel usually as we get older, that time is running out and important opportunities are slipping away). It also highlights the importance of living in the moment and cherishing memories and time spent with family/friends in addition to how we must "Seize the Day". The show includes original music composed by DCI music arrangers, "Tage wie Diese (Days Like These" by Die Toten Hosen, and "Wait" by M83.

North Star Drum Corps (D2 Drum Corps)-"The Book Thief"
This show is based off of the book by Markus Zusak and film directed by Brian Percival. Liesel Meminger is a young girl on the verge of adolescence the midst of WWII Germany. Her mother is unfortunately unable to care for her and she is adopted by a German couple. Liesel is illiterate when she arrives-thereafter, she is encouraged to learn to read by her adoptive father. The couple takes in a Jew named Max, who is hiding from Hitler's army-eventually, Liesel befriends him. This show gives insight to how words and imagination provides her and her friends an escape from the events that unfold around them.
Music includes selections from the movie soundtrack (by John Williams) and Movement 2: Europe During the War from Different Trains by Steve Reich.

In addition, my other group The District (D2 Drumline) is currently in their 9th season; their show is entitled "Struwwelpeter".
