Though I know I'm supposed to do this on the Press Release section of the forums, I feel that whenever I take the time and effort to actually introduce my shows, it never really get noticed. Therefore, I'm going to try and simply keep my show releases for CLASS eyes only!
After a disappointing 52nd season in which Invictus slipped from being a Top 10 D2 Finalist due to several issues ranging from many of their members falling gravely ill after consuming E. Coli infested lasagna and then many misfortunes involving their vehicles, the New York-based drum and bugle corps are back after firing their dubious cook, hiring a gourmet chef from Milan, Italy, and also buying a new fleet of vehicles such as 5 motorcoaches, a deluxe food truck, and 2 RVs for the staff (the merchandise truck somehow survived after being hit head-on by a drunk driver; both the truck driver and the drunk driver survived).
In Season 53, the corps will still feature the famous musical prowess that it has been known for since their triumphant return in Season 50, but it will be the first time that the show's conception, development, and realization will not solely stem from the mind of Mario Kostastovich, the head corps director. Instead, Mario has elected to allow the younger Stefphan Bernadino, the colorguard director, to showcase his creative talents in hopes of regaining success this upcoming season.
Bernadino recently unveiled his grand scheme for Invictus, entitled "Anthems," featuring many pieces straight from his Spotify playlist. According to sources, Kostastovich was initially very cold towards the musical selections, knowing that he will have to ensure that the corps' musical prowess will still remain intact in Season 53. However, after being assured by his granddaughter, who will be joining the corps' colorguard for the first time this season, that the selections were "lit af," Kostastovich eventually warmed up to the music.
Surprisingly, despite being a colorguard director, Bernadino did not take the opportunity to overuse the colorguard in the show. Quite frankly, he planned for their minimal use throughout the show so that the music could truly shine the brightest.
"This corps has always emphasized its music over everything. And I am quite fine with continuing the tradition despite my new creative freedoms; hopefully, this will ensure victory for Invictus." Bernadino did, however, promise that whenever the colorguard would make their presence known on the field, "they will do my plans justice, or die trying in style!"
