In their first full season of competition, the drum corps Olympus and their drumline The Demigods both made finals and placed fifth in Division 3 competition with their shows Ice (Olympus) and Beat It (The Demigods), setting a standard for all their members, present and future.
"Last season we planned on putting our foot in the door," corps director Houston Keene said, "But instead we blew the door off of its hinges."
"Olympus is here to stay," euphonium soloist Steve Markman said in a short interview following the finals, "We may not have won the competition, but we surely didn't lose. I can't wait to see what next season brings."
Olympus plans to unveil its new show, "Secret Agent", at their league's (Midwestern Association of Marching Arts) opening competition on November 16th, and The Demigods plan to perform their show "War" at their first competition (TBA).
"We still have a long road ahead of us, Mr. Keene concluded in his interview, "But we are willing to make the journey."
