Will the groups be receiving performance fees at each show, or are unit finances replenished only through fund raising and hosting a competition?

Only fund raising and hosting.

It would also be cool if you can get money from member fees, so the more members you have the more fee money you get.. if you set a higher fee amount, the harder it might be for people to join, but you get more money out of it.. etc

Since there are no divisions for size in this version, I don't think its as good of an idea.
