Yep! And with the finalists, that's your decision. I started accepting them on Friday of the preseason week because the people who will really perform well at MFMA will sign up within that week.

Yeah, it filled up quickly, over 30 applicants in the Drum Corps, Marching Band, and ColorGuard shows.

Finalist really shouldn't be placed until end of the week, but they were, but I'm sure most of the medalists who wanted in got in. If someone didn't even make finals, they shouldn't have been accepted, but some were. Sorry if the rules weren't more clear, we will make sure it is with future hosts.

Can anyone explain what this is all about? I might be interested in getting into this competition.

its supposed to be for the elite regardless of league and it helps raise a fair amount of money for various corps (many up and coming) along the way. previous medalists (regardless of division) are accepted first. toward the end of preseason week either th or f we open up to all finalists. you must be at least a finalist to earn a spot. its meant to be an honor earned to be accepted into the ranks.

Do we know who's hosting next season?

I don't believe anyone is on slate. If no one steps up, gcurrier3 can host, if others are interested let me know, but they have to agree to AND follow the rules.

I'd like to volunteer two other people if they want it: Kiwi and Aaron, just because I would like to, but both of them hosted before me (40 and 42, I hosted 44) so they should get dibs before me again.

I'll host it again, but I don't want to be greedy. If a director steps up who hasn't hosted it, he or she should host before I do it again.

I could host it, never hosted it before.

Okay, to be fair, I'll pass on hosting it next season.

gcurrier - could you update the hosting history on the first page? It would be nice to have a full history of hosts. If I'm not mistaken, you hosted season 48, I hosted 49, Thomas hosted 50, and CTrain is hosting this year
