If there are any Non-League groups that would like to compete, please mail me, or state your interest here. I need at least 5 and up to 8 ensembles to automatically create a Non-League league. If that number goes above 8, then I will deem Cire (if interested) the president of the Non-League league and he will "pick" them himself.

So far for drum corps, we only have CLASS and for guard we only have WGI.

About the scoring, since someone asked. I don't even know what the exact scoring is yet, because I'm still tweaking it out. That's one of the reasons why I'm not starting it until week three. This is what I messaged someone.
Scoring is based off a formula that I'm creating, just like the formula Alex has for FMA, but the one I'm using is a different style. The movement and visual difficulty is what will balance out the ensembles who are competing within different divisions to level out the playing field. The score range might be a little wide, but not that much. That's why I'm throwing in a lot of factors like points for 1st and second place wins. You don't have to worry about getting the difficulty ratings from your group, I will do that after I know which 7 ensembles are competing. All you do is number the list that I gave you and a computer generator (that link I gave you) will pick those 7 people. I hope that cleared it up. If you have any more questions just ask.

Just to clarify another thing, division has nothing to do with the competition. Not rehearsing is the only thing that'll make you lose. That's why I am asking for the visual and movement difficulty level. People are jumping the gun assuming that they will in fact get to choose the exact 7 ensembles that will compete.

So wait, the corps are random from your league? That doesn't sound fair at all... What if a bunch of D3 from one league are competing against mostly D1 from another league? Too random...

If you can read, like I stated, division has nothing to do with this competition.

Haha dude....We can read your rules over and over and it seems what was considered "jumping the gun" was poor explanation on your part as it seems almost everyone thought the president of each league would pick seven representatives. You can say Division won't matter but realistically it would likely impact it as you said yourself not practicing would be what would hurt someone. Division 1 tends to practice more than each lower Division. Not always but most often. I've yet to understand how what you've proposed through clarification would help determine the strongest league which is honestly too bad because while CLASS dominates Division 1 pretty clearly, it would be great to see how we would compare across all divisions given we are not as strong in other divisions (our corps quickly rise to division 1). I think if you could take the feedback and consider changes you could really have something going. But just insulting people, not going to get this idea off the ground.

And considering that MAoMA has 137 members, the probability of one of the 5 or so D1 we have that are actually active getting picked is very low.

Rule #2 - The president of each league will choose 7 ensembles that will be representing.
I don't understand how we are supposedly misunderstanding this. I can read the above line and it says the president gets to choose the ensembles quite clearly...

I completely agree when I sent mine I saw this rule. I think this rule would work though because in guard the top groups are evenly spread this whole thing is a good idea but needs some refinement.

The other problem is getting groups to respond to the difficulty message. MAoMA has 5 groups at the moment but i dont really want to give members names without their consent to compete in the competition.

Or if a group has quit your screwed. As of now WGI is officially out. Unless the random groups changes to pick your 7 which as I said above is fair. If you still wanted to keep some ran randomation in have them submit 7 and take 5.
April 30th, 2014 9:18am
I don't think it should be random at all. It is a competition after all. Putting what you think to be your best into the competition is what I see as fair.
