Have Ohio's marching bands improved or am I going crazy? Shouldn't there be the most coming out of Indiana and Texas?

Ohio has always normally had the most bands attend. Many of them come from the Cincinnati/Dayton area since it isn't that far of a drive. Texas bands typically take turns or come every other year since their state finals goes every other year. Sometimes they don't. As for Indiana, all the big names are back. :)

Ok so the Louisville regional has came and went with some surprises first:
Carmel wins. Duh.
Adair County finishes nearly 2 points ahead of Ben Davis. But this may be expected as Ben Davis is a late bloomer.
Fishers make their 1st regional finals in their 1ST regional appearance! Congratulations!
Louisville Male doesn't make the finals. This may be expected though.
And Kettering is coming up this weekend!! what do you think so far?

Many people might under estimate Tarpon Springs since they took last year off! They have a show this year that can rival L.D. Bell and Avon!

L.D. Bell's show is amazing... Let's just say that it's Americana at it's finest.

I'll pose this question here to people who seem to have a general idea of who matters in BOA: Does anyone here know American Fork High School out of American Fork, Utah, near Salt Lake City? I'm in Georgia, but my old band director (and private tutor after that) just took a job this year teaching their percussion. Apparently they made GN finals a couple years ago?

If more California bands attended then it would be a completely different game.

Lol. California has good bands, but after being cultured more in BOA by my director and college friends (And seeing L.D. Bell's show as well as Avon's), they'd have some tough competition. Avon's show at Grand Nationals last year and the year before both took my breath away when I saw the video. That is the pinnacle as far as I can tell.

Some of the better bands are California are pretty all drum corps.. there are some in the bay are that have a bunch of members in Blue Devils and their entire staff is just about the same.
There are some good bands in BOA.. I've just never really been that big on it. Especially those really really big bands like 300+ members

Lol. I can completely understand that.
For example, Allen High School Band in Allen, TX marches over 500 kids on the field.
