I sang "Stars" from Les Miserables for NYSSMA and got a 99 last year. I also am a part of the musicals that my high school does. I love singing. I am also in the process of writing a pop song. If I ever get down to putting it on paper I will make a youtube video and will post it here for you nice people to enjoy! But is there anyone else on here that enjoys singing as well as marching?

I'm sure if I was halfway decent at it I might enjoy it, but alas, my voice sounds like sandpaper when I sing.

I love singing almost as much as my french horn.
It's funny that you mentioned Russel Crowe because all of us in the honors choir say our director looks like him

Yeah my choir instructor is AMAZING I swear to god the only thing she can't do is sing bass lol and I, being the lowest bass in the choir, always get stuck with the boring 2nd bass parts because she can't sing it for us so she has me lead it x_x

Sounds like a you have a great director.
Mine's bipolar about whatever part he want me to sing. Freshman year I sang tenor I, last year he had me at baritone, and now I'm a tenor II. He just can't make up his mind.

So I guess I'm not alone! (Sorry about the double post. My iPod just loves forums -.-)

Haha it is a common theme when the only one who fits a tenor role is the lowest base -_-

Yeah. I don't sing bass bass, but because I can play piano, my director still seems to make me help with all the sections.

I've been practicing falsetto a lot recently. If I get a job teaching general music in elementary schools I'll have to use it because kids that age aren't very good at pitch matching across octaves. Naturally, my usual voice part is bass. So that's a bit of an adventure for me. Haha.
