I hate it, but that was pretty cool!
Also, my Drumline is in DIV I. I'm not happy about it :(

I love it! lol a cire i didn't really have much choice in moving up in D2 i don't support FMA (no offense alex) when i can just play for free lol. D3 last season wasn't very strong in competing in my opinion.

Well, the other people you were competing against in D3 last season probably weren't very active users.

^ I have to say this, even though it is free for us (hundreds of us) to use.. I'm a developer myself, so I know that Alex is putting a lot of his own personal time and money into the site. So while we do get to benefit from it and it being free, nothing is ever free and without financial support there is no reason for him to keep the site running.
Everyone should donate a few bucks here and there, even if it's not through the FMA store.
You play basketball, so compare it to you joining the WNBA but you have to pay to participate and will only get paid in donations you raise.. however hundreds or thousands of fans can come and watch you perform for free... how long would you want to go out every year and give your time like that when you are already busy with a full time job or school?

I'd definitely pay if I had the spare cash. As it is, I haven't been acquainted with spare cash in quite some time. Next year I'll either be a full time sub in Fairfax County, Virginia or Fayette County, Kentucky (or a band director somewhere) so I'll actually be able to spend some amount of money on things besides bills.
As far as marching band goes, I like it in general. It's a useful tool to teach kids about music. Some bands take it too seriously and let "takin' state" become the objective. That's when it bothers me.

yea i feel ur pain corn dog being a college athlete is hard because you literally have no time for a job, and if you get a job and NCAA finds out they try to say your accepting money for being on a team. It's dumb

Thanks Strad, it's good to know I'm not alone/some kind of kook. Or if I'm a kook that's at least not the reason why. Haha.
And Kiowa, it's definitely tough. I'm not coming at it from the perspective of an athlete, but there were semesters where I was principal tuba in the Symphony, wind ensemble, played in the opera pit, top brass quintet, tuba-euphonium ensemble, and also happened to be the sousaphone section leader in marching band. I couldn't imagine having to deal with that schedule when the NCAA (one of the most corrupt organizations in the country IMO) was so picky that I could get in trouble for washing my car with a specific hose on campus.

I played soccer in NCAA Div III, never really had a hard time, I guess it goes with what division you are in when it comes to earning money. Even though I went to a school for the Deaf, never heard of any issues regarding jobs.
Anyhow, corndog, next year if you move to Fairfax County, we are going to have to meet up. I go to Gallaudet, which is in Washington DC and the WMTA dub wub, wubwubwubwub wheeeew whaaa subway goes as far as Huttington.

NCAA is stricter on women for some reason we have to just act a certain way and not embarrass them by acting like skanks i guess. anyways im debating if i should keep campaigning untili get 7k influence or if i should stop im probably 2 or 3 days away from getting there

Well, if you just play the game and level up, you would get that many influence in the long run. I don't campaign for influence. I won't be until way down the road.

Ahh DeafGuy, you're very close to my hometown. I'm from Fairfax (the county, not the city). Was able to walk to George Mason when I was in high school. Gotta love that Metro.
