I'd rather finish 20th in DI than 1st in DII.
It's kinda like college basketball to me. Making the NCAA Tournament is better than winning the NIT regardless of whether or not you even win a game. It's still the Big Dance.

Is there a reason you are singling marimbaman out?

Hmmm. Fun factoid.
In drum corps history, I still hold the highest score of all time.
In marching band, I hold the second highest score of all time.
In drumline, I hold the third highest score of all time.
In color guard, I hold the 4th highest score of all time.
Coincidentally, this is the same order in which I care about the groups :P

This is my first season doing is. Pretty fun stuff! I think I went over my head when I chose the highest difficulty for everything haha. I'll definitely stick around and do this some more!

It's much more fun when you have more groups to rehearse and stuff.

I only have a drum corps and I totally agree with you. Although you then cant participate in some discussions it means that you generally excel in your area. Also you are making top 3 in D3 drum corps at the moment which is pretty good.

Yea I was surprised! I wasnt sure I would get the hang of this thing but its pretty sweet. I want to get my friends into it, give us a little competition between us!

EuphoniumBuHao and I are competing against each other, and we met on here. We both started in DIV III.

Any tips?

Do whatever you can to not miss any submissions. Especially at the "lower" levels simply participating can guarantee at least some level of success.

My drumline, and my very first season ever on FMA, both my drum corps and drumline finished 3rd in DIV III, and moved up to DIV II. My colourguard, is still in DIV III, but currently sits at 2nd place. In their inaugural start in season 27 though, they did finish a strong 6th.

I have such a hard time leveling GE, any tips?

It's just hard to level. You have to put more time into it than other things.
