Jhawk, I'm sorry about your mom. I hope she's doing all right.

Corndog, it's interesting that you brought this up, because on another thread you said there wasn't one and I commented. But it was an older thread so I understand you not seeing my other post.

Neither VBODA nor VMEA sponsors a state championship. USBands, however, does. It has been held every year since 2007. You could question its legitimacy, but the bands that would end up at a championship like that usually go to this one anyway. Fairfax has went before, as has Princess Anne, Jefferson Forest and quite a few other very good bands we have in our state. The only bands that I'm aware of that haven't attended are the Chantilly bands and some of the ones farther north. This might be why you haven't heard of it. Although, last year it was held farther north. The championship was held at King George High School, which is located in King George County. Before, it was held at Glen Allen High School , Salem Civic Center and Liberty University. .

Word on the street is, that they're holding the championship at Liberty again this year. This is just a rumor at this point so I can't say for sure.

I hope this cleared things up for you, and I hope your former band comes! The more the merrier as it is a very fun competition.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother, Jhawk. My mom had breast cancer a few years ago but thank God she was diagnosed very early and is fine now. She gets tested pretty regularly so hopefully she won't have issues again.

iAm64, I'll be honest and admit that I usually only start accepting groups with 10,000 or more influence to my shows unless it starts looking like I won't fill up my shows that way, so I believe I wound up letting your application sit and I'm sorry about that (it looks like you are unavailable at this point). I started in season 13 and it's really hard to get to the top without having the money to buy and upgrade the staff to top levels so I definitely take the higher influence groups first to make more money for my shows. But personally when I really want a group to take me at a show of theirs or if I really want a group to come to my show and they haven't signed up for it I'll PM them and usually it works so I reciprocate that by if anyone PM's me about wanting to be accepted to my show I'll always accept them.

I hope my former post didn't make make come off as angry or whiny. I'm really not, but I was telling the truth. At this point, it's harder for me to get into bigger shows simply because my influence is lower and I won't make the runners of the competition much money. I understand that and accept it. I can see the perspective of the show-runners and I understand why they wouldn't want me.

So if I came off as whiny or crabby I do apologize. And marimbaman, no hard feelings. In the end, it is about making a buck with that. And with ensembles as killer as yours, you gotta have the funds.

EDIT: BTW, marimba, you haven't declined me yet. lol.

I totally understand how you feel iAm64 you didn't come off as whiny at all. Your ensembles are showing up as "unavailable" on my applications page. Can you un-apply for my shows and then re-apply for them? If you do, I will accept your applications.

It is definitely important to make money haha, but at the same time I try to accept people whose groups I remember from the forums or who PM me because that shows that they are really into playing the game...I apologize if I haven't accepted someone that applies, just give me a shout if I haven't =)

if it says they are unavailable it means they've already been accepted to 5 shows that week lol if you remove the application it will not allow you to apply to any other shows for that group on that date lol i tried the same thing yesterday

This is really off topic and none of you probably know this but I am one of the pit techs at the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps. And I have a student, Audrey, who was the front ensemble section leader at Raiders last year and she is marching Crown this year but she needs help paying for Crown this year and is asking for donations to help her march. Audrey is an amazing girl and I know no one has any money but I'm really broke right now and even I donated $20. I know it's inconvenient setting up a PayPal account but it takes five minutes versus how many hours we spend playing this game? Please do it! Here is the link to donate: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/7SyF4

Totally going to change the subject again, I am sorry to hear that Jhawk give her my best wishes I had a grandpa who died of cancer and it really is a horrible thing not only for the person who has it but it is also very hard for the family to watch someone they love suffer like that.
