We'll start with Division III!

Division III

1. Cardinal Sounds - 84.755
2. Sonata Winds - 79.960
3. James Island Colonials - 79.485
4. Carry On - 73.065
5. Ronald Reagan - 72.735
6. The Colts - 68.500
7. Jaguar Regiment - 67.500
8. Bones - 67.440
9. The Procrastinators - 67.415
10. Milli - 64.905
11. Red Devils - 63.125
12. Trotwood Marching Rams - 63.030

The Colonial Brigade and Guard - 61.605
Jessamine County Band - 61.495
Taco Supreme - 61.025
The Raptors - 59.595
West Coast Ducks - 59.070
Royal Regiment - 58.195
Jordan-Elbridge Marching Eagles - 57.705
BG Majestics - 57.615

At the moment, it isn't looking like the Finals results will be too different from the current standings. The top five all look to be unchanged, and as of right now, no new groups are projected to bump anyone out of the top twelve. A few notes of interest.

1. Despite joining FMA on January 8th (during pre-season week), Cardinal Sounds is having a spectacular season. They have not lost a competition, are nearly four points ahead of the nearest group, and are projected to put up the sixth highest score in DIII MB history. Congrats on a great season so far, you're looking really good for your first ever Gold Medal!

2. While the race for Gold appears over assuming a bizarre turn of events, there is a great battle shaping up for the Silver Medal. Sonata Winds is currently half a point up on the James Island Colonials, and while they are still looking pretty good for Silver they can't afford to slip up!

3. Despite participating in their first ever competition since Season 1 (and participating in their first Season 23 competition just eight days ago), BG Majestics have quietly put together a top twenty season. If the group had posted their February 2nd score on opening day and improved scores at their current rate, they would be projected seventh.

4. CAMarA continues to consistently perform at a high level across all divisions. The league has two of the three Medalist groups and looks to have five of the top eight spots in Finals (Cardinal Sounds, James Island Colonials, Carry On, The Colts, and Bones). Also a big shout out to FBA, a really nice up and coming league with five projected Finalist groups, including the Silver Medalist (Sonata Winds).

As with DIII, there shouldn't be any big surprises in terms of Finalist groups. The gap between 12th and 13th is nearly three points, a nearly impossible gap to close in five days. All twelve groups seem to be locked in, but that doesn't mean there aren't interesting stories both in and out of the top twelve. Notably:

1. As opposed to DIII, the Gold Medal really seems up for grabs right now. The gap between first (Eastern Sounds) and second (Pacific Northwest HS) is less than two tenths of a point, and while Eastern Sounds looks to be pulling away a little bit, all it takes is one crazy day to change everything.

2. Look out for Hybrid High. They are progressing at an amazing rate the last week (pulling in eight tenths per day), and a Bronze Medal isn't out of the question for this KMEA group. Throw in Insanity and Teen Titans, and you've got a stout trio of KMEA contenders looking to earn a Bronze Medal.

3. Speaking of KMEA, this is a league that is absolutely dominating Division II. They have seven of the top twelve, and they have an amazing ten of the top twenty in Division II. Most importantly, the league has a real chance at pulling in the Gold with Pacific Northwest HS.

4. While a top twelve result looks unlikely this year, Onyx Regiment and Wayne seem to be positioning themselves for a run in Season 24. Both groups are pulling in nearly three quarters of a point every day, and I would be very surprised if they didn't earn their first Finals appearance next season!

2. The Marching Lords - 97.480
3. Silver Falcon Marching Band - 97.460
4. Spirit of Westchestertonfieldville - 95.940
4. Robinson Ram Band - 95.940
6. The Tullahoma Azure Echo - 95.650
7. Red Devils - 94.930
8. Hanover Marching Knights - 90.795
9. Hartt Marching Band - 90.530
10. The Marching Figments - 90.290
11. Firebird Pride - 89.640
12. Cheeky Bastards - 89.355

Black and Blue Crew - 88.810

Marching Royal Dukes - 80.125
Shenandoah Marching Senate - 80.035
Dan Valley Regiment - 79.950
Tidewater Raptors - 79.815

It's not Groundhog Day, but the top twelve doesn't look to be expecting any changes in composition, merely order. The gap between 12th and 13th in all three Divisions just doesn't lend itself well to surprises.

1. As with Division II, the battle for Gold is shaping up to be an interesting one. The Marching Marchers are well positioned to take their second Division I Championship in three seasons, but with a little help The Marching Lords could win their second in four seasons. It's not even impossible for Silver Falcon MB to go back to back. It's a great three way battle at the top, and these three groups will almost certainly be the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalists in some order come February 16th.

2. Amazingly, Spirit of Westchestertonfieldville and Robinson Ram Band are projected to end in a tie. While ties are not unheard of, this would be the third season in a row one of rockefan86's groups tied with one of mine (Cornhuskers and Lexington Legends have tied each of the last two seasons).

3. Red Devils have really settled in as a perennial Finalist group. After moving up to Division I in Season 12 (and making Finals three of their first five seasons), they spent three seasons inactive. Since coming back, they have finished 8th each of the last three seasons and are aiming even higher this year!

4. Top league for Division I is [Unspecified]. The league will almost certainly take home two of the three Medals, and have three more groups projected to finish in the top ten.

5. Black and Blue Crew is improving at over eight tenths every day. They might not be able to pull off Finals this year, but after three seasons of finishing 13th, the premier group from KMEA seems poised to make a trip to Finals in Season 24!

Thanks! It definitely took some work but it was really interesting finding this stuff out.

Hoping to make this an annual thing too, and I haven't even gotten to commenting on Finals scores yet!

And I might have to eat my words about Black and Blue Crew. It'll be really tight for 12th in Division I.

Thanks Insanity. Didn't want to just copy and paste scores so I'm glad the tidbits made things more interesting!

CentralSounds, if you wind up winning you'll end up doing exactly what I did. It'll be close!

Stradivarius, you could still get it! You're really close!

Don't worry I'll be back next season to make a strong run to make are you won't repeat as the division 2 gold medalist again central Sounds. I had a lot of travel and various other duties to do this season. So I was just fundraising. My competition did well and I earned an extra 7k off of that so I should be back with good staff and plenty of time so watch out.

I actually might be able to get that 85 now that my school has iPads without the filter system that blocks FMA :P at least 3.5 rehearsals a day is gonna help a lot! :D

My groups are now back in action. I'm hoping to cause a disturbance in season 26. HOPEFULLY. It may be too late, but next season, its on!

I am very proud of my league, KMEA. We have made great strides in a short amount of time. Most of our members have went inactive. I'm going to try and spark things up again.
