I guess this for those who are out of school/college.
Does anyone perform for a city community band? If so, where and what pieces are you playing this spring?

I actually got to perform in a community orchestra in Lexington once. They needed a fill in for tuba, and my school orchestra (Kentucky) was done for the year so I thought it would be fun. We played Rhapsody in Blue, Capriccio Espagnol, and Egmont Overture (Beethoven was a jerk, so I didn't play this). It was so different from what I was used to doing, I really enjoyed it though, orchestral playing is my true love!
Not the same as band but I figured I'd chime in!

I played tuba for the West Michigan Concert WINDS, a community band from Muskegon 2008 - 2009.
