Division 1:

So in the Top 10 this week there has been some reshuffling of corps, with one corps falling out of the Top 10 and one corps rising into it. The Corps Of Unspecified Identity fell from 9th to 12th this past week and the Khaki Krusaders rose to 8th place. There were a number of jumps in the Top 10 as well: The Cornhuskers jumped from 10th to 4th, Epic dropped from 4th to 6th, Tullahoma Azure Force 6th to 9th, Minneapolis dropped from 8th to 10th. Now on to Captions: In Division 1 Winds it’s Blue Demons who are this writer’s Corps so on to the next Category! In Division 1 Percussion it’s Corps IBEX who are maintaining their commanding lead over all the other competitors in the division. In Division 1 Music Ensemble it’s Blue Demons who continue holding the Caption. In Division 1 Visual Performance it’s Blue Demons, and the same holds true in Color Guard, Visual Ensemble, and General Effect Visual. But in Division 1 General Effect Music, it’s the Khaki Krusaders who are continuing their control of the Caption for the second week in a row.

Division 2:

There’s been a lot of upheaval in the Division 2 Top 10. Not a single corps stayed in the same ranking it had last week. The Raiders are now in the lead after jumping from 7th position, Polaris is now in 2nd after not holding a Top 10 position last week, and the Cul-de-sac Cadets are now in 3rd from 6th last week. In Division 2 Winds it is still The Musketeers who are now facing a sprinting Polaris as their main competitor for the Caption, will they hold it? In Division 2 Percussion it’s Imperial Sound who is still holding strong in first! In Division 2 Music Ensemble it’s The Raiders! The Raiders are making their first winning caption appearance of the season, after striking out to take Division 2. In Visual Performance it’s Polaris! They continue their rising development to take their first caption of the season as well! In Color Guard it’s still Piedmont Crusade: who grasp the guard caption are barely fighting off Polaris for it. In Visual Ensemble it’s The Raiders! And it’s also The Raiders in General Effect Music!!! And Lions, and Tigers, and Bears oh my! It’s The Raiders in General Effect Visual as well!!!! It seems that The Raiders hold GE and as we all know. Whoever wins GE normally wins it all. While that dictum holds true often enough, Polaris is within 2 tenths of a point of The Raiders, and would seem to be putting that truism to a tough test. I believe with how the scores are laying out, that next week Polaris will be in first. Raiders: Let’s see if you can keep your lead!

Division 3:

Much like in Division 2 there has been earth-shattering upheaval in the Top 10! Most notable is Phantom Regimented who came in 3rd this week, after having their first performance halfway through this season and achieved their highest score ever in their first performance since Season 5! In Division 3 Winds it’s the Immortals! Indeed, it’s the Immortals in every caption this week with the exception of General Effect Visual where the trail by .05 points to Carolina Brass. So once again, I will say Immortals are going to take this season, and I believe they will set a record score for Division 3! Good luck Immortals, and I hope I will have a surprise concerning Division 3 review next week!
