Marching bands across FMA have just wrapped up their Day 2 competitions, and while not everyone had a show today, there have been some interesting shifts in rank.

Div 1:
The Marching Marchers passed the J. Summerville HS marching band, who were in the lead yesterday (51.83 vs 51.35). Each caption has its own leading band with the exception of music ensemble and General Effect music, which are both held by Spirit of Westchestertonfieldville, the current 3rd place for highest score. More detailed stats will appear every Saturday.

Div 2:
Captions in Division 2 are also fairly well spread, with Muff Divers claiming Percussion and Colorguard as well as the Highest score with a 49.24. W.C. Latin Band is close on the Divers' tail with a 49.12.

Div 3:
With the top 5 bands all being within 3/4 of a point of each other, Div 3 is looking to be a heated battle for first. The current leader is The Marching Caledonian Band, with a 47.73, followed closely by Marching Knights with a 47.675. Despite being in 2nd, the Marching Knights lead in caption scores, taking both Music and Visual GE, as well as Percussion. No division 3 band has won more than 1 show.


At this point, it is anyone's game. Detailed statistics will come every Saturday from me, but I hope to provide nearly daily break-downs of the scores, as well as a few features now and again. Keep up the hard work marching band directors, and I wish you all good luck.

Its interesting to see what not competing one day does to your rank.

I can't wait till my band competes in their next competition. My Marching Band is a power house this season. They are nipping on the heals on those in front.

Wow! Division 1's 1st place is a good 2+ points away from division 2's. If you were to be in division 2, you'd be at the top of the pack!

Well here's the thing, The reason why D2's top groups aren't as higher up in scores as D1's top groups, is because people who were placed in D1 spent more time during pre-season than D2

It would be interesting to see a division 2 or even 3 get a highest overall. I'd imagine they would somehow get bumped up though.
