Eagle Regiment will be transforming a marching band show by Key Poulan into drum corps format. It celebrates Scottish History and the story of the Picti.

‘In the year 685 King Ecgfrith rashly led an army to waste the province of the Picts, although many of his friends opposed it…and through the enemy’s feigning flight he was led into the defiles of inaccessible mountains, and annihilated, with great part of his forces he had brought with him.’

Mvt. 1: “Prelude to the Battle / The Picts Lure and Attack the Northumbrians”

The Opening Bagpipes set the stage as the Picts prepare for battle against the Angles of Northumbria. Fought on Saturday March 2nd 685 AD at 3pm, it is the most well document battle in the Dark Age in Scotland.

The Picts won the battle, and changed Scottish history forever. Without this victory Scotland would not be the same as it is today,

Scotland owes its existence to this battle. If it were not for the Picts' victory, Scotland would have never existed. Poets as far as Ireland would tell of this great victory.
