After some review and under the approval of the Irish Athletic Arts and Irish Arts Academy, the popular and classic Druids Drum & Bugle Corps WILL be returning to the field for Season 10. It has been 5 Seasons since the corps had to pull from competition, and they are hoping to gain some ground at rebuilding the reputation for excellence they have so dutifully maintained in the past.
"This was not, of course, the first time this ensemble has had to pull a hiatus of a few Seasons," explains director Douglas A. Olmstead.
"There have been several Seasons where the Druids needed to remain absent. That is the trouble of being affiliated with a boarding school, who needs to answer to a board. The blessing is a year-round rehearsal schedule and an organization who really backs us to the fullest."
The Druids will be presenting their Season 10 field show "Chess: The Game of War", mixing some classic themes with original music.
As always, the corps will not be revealing the ending of their show until their last performance. Perhaps it will be on Grand National Finals night.
Stay tuned as more info streams as the Season progresses, and check the Druids out at their first show July 18th at the All Liberty contest held by The Cloudmen Drum & Bugle Corps.
