Gary's Birthday Bash took place on April 29, 2011

Here's the first review of the season (woot!)

First off, happy birthday to Gary. Second off, let's talk about the show.

Today's drum corps show took place on a giant birthday cake. Most corps were penalized for eating some of the field and ruining the performances of the corps ahead of them. (However, that chocolate was DELICIOUS and was worth the point deduction.) As the show wore on, a giant knife would sometimes slice into the cake and drastically affect the playing field (It would've been perfect had the Blue Deviled Eggs chosen a cake-themed show instead.) Sometimes, one of the candles would tip over and start burning the field. By the time division one started, there remained a single slice of cake to do the show on. Some of the performers would slip off the side and into an oblivion of frosting. One corps had so many heavy props that they sunk into the icing and weren't seen again. When Nemesis marched off the cake, the last slice was taken. The awards were announced on a couple scoops of ice cream (Rocky Road I believe) and Nemesis won their home show. Today's show was delicious, even if it was practically impossible to do. Watch for the recap later!
