Day one of the first ever season of FMA 2.0 is now in the books. It was a day filled with a lot of competitions in all 4 circuits. In the Drum Corps World there were 11 shows, the biggest of which was ‘The Southern Starting Gate I’ hosted by The Tullahoma Azure Force. 20 Corps performed at this show, in front of 738 fans.
Leading Division I, Glory Cadets (51.345. Winners of Brass Caption, Percussion Caption, Music Ensemble, and Visual Performance) took first place at ‘The Southern Starting Gate I’ Sunday night with their amazing performance of “Awake”. In 2nd for Division I Corps, The Stout Marchers (51.170. Winners of Brass Caption, Percussion Caption, Music Ensemble, Visual Ensemble, Music GE and Visual GE) winners of ‘Capital Drums’. They performed their show “The First Steps”, wowing a crowd of 620 Drum Corps fans. Sapphire Sound (51.030. Co-Winners of Brass Caption, Percussion Caption, and Visual Ensemble) currently sit in 3rd place for Division I Corps, taking first at ‘FMA West’ with their show “Out of Darkness”.
Spin Cycle (48.715. Winners Percussion Caption, Visual Performance, Guard Caption, Visual GE, Co-Winners of Music Ensemble) performed at Bold’s Home Show, and currently sit on top of Division II, after performing their show “Pieces of Glass”. Placing 2nd in Division II is Black Diamonds (48.430. Winners of Brass Caption, Percussion Caption, Guard Caption, Music GE, Visual GE). They used an amazing performance of their show “A Diamond in the Rough” to show that they have the potential to be just that this season. Eagle Regiment (48.370. Winners of Brass Caption, Percussion Caption, Visual Performance, Guard Caption, Music GE and Visual GE), currently sit in 3rd place for Division II after entertaining a crowd of 149 with their show “Falling Asleep”.
Performing their show “Virtuosity”, The Arbiters (47.260. Winners of Brass Caption, Percussion Caption, Music Ensemble, Guard Caption, Visual Ensemble, and Visual GE) are currently on top of Division III. The Knights (47.235. Swept all Captions) performed their show “Genesis” in front of 738 Drum Corps fans, and are currently sitting in 2nd place in Division III. The Pride of the Texas Hill Country (47.090. Winners of Brass Caption, Percussion Caption, Music Ensemble, Visual Performance, Visual Ensemble, and Visual GE) are the 3rd place Corps in Division III.
