You don't need to close you shows to IIEA only groups. It is encouraged to get other ensembles involved!

Here is some information about the IIEA. The IIEA or International Indoor Ensemble Association is an indoor combine that was specifically for Indoor groups in FMA of Middle School or High School level, before the addition of the OPEN class which included collegiate and Drum Corps related ensembles. This season, that class was renamed as the Independent class.

The International Indoor Ensemble Association is a combine specifically for Indoor Percussions / Drumlines and Indoor Colorguards / Winterguards. There are two different types of groups in the IIEA. SCHOLASTIC and INDEPENDENT [Old Open class] for placement. There is no scoring difference between the two.

SCHOLASTIC

Scholastic groups are any group affiliated with a high school or middle school, have the same name as a user's marching band, or a supposed to be made of students. Groups that are in this class are , Thunder or Republic Venue.


INDEPENDENT
------------------------------

An independent group is any group on FMA that does not compete as a scholastic group. This includes well known groups such as Knight Drumline and Night Area HS Indoor Colorguard

From there, placements are done in 4 different classes, Novice, Intermediate A, A, and World.

Novice Class
------------------------------

Groups that are in Novice class are groups that have never competed in an IIEA show before, and are usually Division III FMA groups. Groups will move up to the Intermediate A class upon reaching a score above 93 at any IIEA show.

Intermediate A Class
------------------------------

This is the newest class to the IIEA. Groups get here from either being bumped down from A or bumped up from Novice. These tend to be Division III or Division II FMA groups. A group will be bumped down from this class to Novice depending on their IIEA score and the time of the season. To be bumped up to A class, a group must receive a 93 or higher at any point in the season.

A Class

This class is generally occupied by Division II and Division I groups. Groups get here from being bumped down from World class, or bumped up from Intermediate A class. A group will be bumped down to Intermediate A class depending on their IIEA score and the time of the season. A group will be bumped up to World class if they obtain a score of 93 or higher at anytime in the season.

World Class

The highest class in the IIEA, groups here have been bumped up from A class. These groups tend to be Division I groups in FMA. A group will be bumped down to A class depending on their IIEA score and the time of the season.

Remember, any score mentioned in an IIEA post is using the IIEA scoring system. What is different? IIEA scoring weights captions differently, allowing for placements to sometimes switch.

Competitions hosted by IIEA members are given an IIEA score report where a review and/or score review is given. Anyone who has participated in an IIEA show in the current season is eligible for the IIEA Championships. However, since space is limited, only those who contact the IIEA will be accepted. If you are a member, you are automatically eligible and will be accepted upon application.

Hot start for Rhythm Q's inaugural competitive season, taking silver at TeamQuavers' Giant Show.

Night Area High School indoor groups are both currently Ranked 16th overall in FMA Division 1, and we are starting just about where we did last season.

I don't have a show until the 19th, which should lull the top few into a false sense of security.... :D

Haha, Well, I can already tell that my groups won't be at the top again this season.

Updated original post with Envision Classic date as well as all FMA Regional dates.

I feel great about Rhythm Q. The only group who has outscored us is a group that we won't face until Prelims. An undefeated season would be crazy. It's really early, though.

Envision Classic V scores are up. Also added information on the new Intermediate class.

Spots still open in IIEA finals.

I'm .005 in Visual Ensemble away from being the highest scorer in every caption so far. It'd be great if I can hang on for my first FMA championship.

That's awesome! I'm just hoping to make finals again. Doubt we will, but who knows. Its still early.

The results for the Night HS show are up, there were a few class changes after scores were calculated, so be sure to check on your groups status! If you are not sure where you are, just send a message and I will tell you.

Also, don't forget that all show results are post on the IIEA website!
