To start things out how is everyone feeling about their finals week?

Good, except for some reason when I was strategizing I was going off of the all time record stats and not this season stats.. didn't realize it until this morning.. lol no wonder my score was slowly slowing down.. but it should start picking up again

Lol xD I just do the same thing consistently so that my scores can be predictable.

I do too, but I adjust at the end of the season. Never out of the top 5... works for me :)

It also probably doesn't hurt that you are very consistent in your practicing, not to mention you also have the highest director level in the drum corps circuit. It is actually amazing you do not win more... Anyways I am just trying to take fourth place in division 3 hopefully I can pull it off.

Not really kmarti6.. I was lucky enough to start right when FMA was relaunched and my initial strategy worked.. ended up in Div 1 top 5 and never left.. however - all of the other groups who eventually made their way into the top 5 and stayed I believe all did it by spending several seasons working only on their staff and raising money, so once they were ready they shot to the top and was very competitive. My main objective was to stay in the top 5 so at times I had to sacrifice points or strategy to stay where I wanted.

Not that I wouldn't mind winning more. lol

I think I can push back into top 6 in DC. I've been very lax on rehearsal this season. I'll be back next time with a vengeance.

Was there a reason that you had a smaller schedule this season TrumpetVinny? My plan for this game is to focus on exclusively drum corps for the moment, after the Hornets reach D1 and are competitive I might then consider forming new groups.

Finals week is looking relatively successful for all of my groups. My guard will most likely win Div 2, and a possibility of my drumline also winning Div 2. My focus groups have always been my marching band and drum corps. I had to call it a season with my drum corps as finals in Div 1 was unattainable but they will place in the teens. My marching band has a legitimate shot at finals after placing 12 in Div 1 Prelims. I just hope it's not another heart break like last year when they missed finals by half a point.

Unfortunately it looks like I am going to hold 5th in D3 drum corps, I was looking to pass up singularity and take fourth but the point spread widened tonight.

Ya wow, I was amazed how close the top scores were. congrats on silver! Congrats to Cire on the Gold medal.

So damn close to upsets in Drum corps and marching band! :(

Whoo yeah! Silver for my Ram Guard, my drum line jumped from fourth to first in Division II, and drum corps/marching band both hit top five. Great season!

I missed 3 or 4 hours of rehearsal last week, if I hadn't things may have been different in drum corps :( oh well, we'll get 'em next season! I'm going to be trying a little different strategy with my drumline this year, we'll see if it pays off!

That was a crazy close finish though. I missed a few hours myself :p

Haha no matter how hard I try to not miss a single hour, I always manage to fall asleep before I submit every once in awhile :p maybe one of these seasons lol

Expect my DC, WG and DL to all take a step back this year. I'm trying something different with those groups this season.
